Soz urges people’s movement to restore special status

Calls Article 370 abrogation wrongful, demands its reinstatement

Srinagar: Former Indian minister from Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir, Saifuddin Soz, has said that Kashmiris are awaiting a people’s movement for the restoration of special status that was enshrined in Article 370 of the Indian Constitution before its abrogation by the Modi regime on August 5, 2019.

According to Kashmir Media Service, in a statement issued in Srinagar, Soz who is also a senior Congress leader said it was wrong for anyone to collect signatures for restoration of statehood, as “nobody can take it away.” He emphasized that the real demand of the Kashmiri people was restoration of special status under Article 370.

Soz said that India has now wrongfully abrogated Article 370, which guaranteed Jammu and Kashmir its special status.
