Kashmiris reaffirm solidarity with Pakistan on Defence Day

Strong, prosperous Pakistan vital for success of freedom struggle: APHC #PakistanDefenceDay/#BraveryAndHeroism

Srinagar: As Pakistan observes Defence Day today, the people of Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IIOJK) reaffirm their solidarity with Pakistan, paying homage to the soldiers and citizens who defended their motherland against Indian aggression in 1965.

According to Kashmir Media Service, APHC leaders and parties, including Ghulam Muhammad Khan Sopori, Advocate Arshad Iqbal, Hafiza Fehmeeda Bano, Maulana Musaib Nadvi, Adv Haseeb Wani, Fayaz Hussain Jafari, Maulana Syed Sibte Shabbir Qomi, Naseer Wani, Jammu Kashmir Muslim League and Tehreek e Hurriyet Jammu Kashmir, in their statements in Srinagar, paid glowing tributes to the martyrs of the 1965 war. They said September 6 reminds the world that the Kashmir dispute remains the unfinished agenda of the Pakistan Movement.

The leaders said that when India challenged Pakistan’s existence in 1965, the armed forces and the nation stood like a wall of steel, crushing its nefarious designs. He added that India has never reconciled with Pakistan’s creation and continues to conspire against its security. Citing May 2025, they noted that India once again launched unprovoked attacks, but Pakistan’s decisive response under Operation Bunyan al Marsoos dealt severe blows to India’s military assets and shattered its illusion of conventional and technological superiority.

The leaders stressed that a strong and prosperous Pakistan is vital for the success of the Kashmir freedom movement. They added that India has illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir since 1947, denying Kashmiris their UN-recognized right to self-determination while killing them for demanding it. Pakistan, they said, has remained their greatest advocate.

Calling Kashmir the main cause of tension between the two countries, they emphasized relations between Pakistan and India cannot normalize without resolving the dispute as per UN resolutions.

They reiterated that Jammu and Kashmir is a natural part of Pakistan, but one portion remains under India’s illegal occupation where Kashmiris continue their struggle for freedom. They underlined that Kashmiris and Pakistanis share unbreakable religious, historical, cultural, and geographical ties and no power on earth can suppress their demand to unite with Pakistan.

The APHC leaders said the Kashmir freedom movement is a continuation of the Pakistan Movement, and Pakistan will only be complete when the entire Jammu and Kashmir becomes part of it. They recalled Quaid-i-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah’s historic words, calling Kashmir Pakistan’s “jugular vein.”
