Ashoka emblem on Hazratbal shrine big conspiracy by BJP: Rehmani

Islamabad: Senior leader of All Parties Hurriyat Conference Azad Jammu and Kashmir (APHC-AJK) chapter Muhammad Farooq Rehmani has condemned a sacrilegious attempt to fix an Ashoka statue over the wall of Hazratbal shrine in Srinagar and termed it a big conspiracy by Bharatiya Janata Party.

According to Kashmir Media Service, Muhammad Farooq Rehmani in a statement issued in Islamabad said the so-called Waqf Board headed by chairperson Ms Darakhshanda is a BJP-installed official aimed at transforming the mosques into the statue houses of Hindu temples to desecrate Islam.

He stated the BJP and its militant parent organisation RSS have already demolished or changed hundreds of mosques into temples in India since demolishing the 500 years old Babri Mosque and constructing Ram Mandir in its place.

He said, “The BJP government’s interference is not only against our faith but against the Indian Constitution and international religious law including the spirit of the UN principles.”
