NC leaders strongly react to installation of Ashoka symbol plaque at Hazratbal shrine
Srinagar: In Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir, Education Minister and senior National Conference leader Sakina Itoo has reacted strongly to the issue of the installation of Ashoka symbol plaque at Hazratbal shrine, saying that this move of the occupying administration has badly hurt the religious sentiments of Kashmiris.
According to Kashmir Media Service, Sakina Itoo, while talking to media representatives in Srinagar said, “Hazratbal shrine is our pride, people’s sentiments have been hurt by installing Ashoka symbol plaque there.”
Demanding the release of those arrested in connection with the protests, she said it is unjustified to call everyone in Kashmir a militant. She said dictatorship should end in occupied Jammu and Kashmir and the religious and emotional sensitivities of Kashmiris should be respected.
National Conference leader and Member of Legislative Assembly Tanvir Sadiq, talking to the media about the installation of a plaque with the Ashoka symbol at the Hazratbal shrine, demanded immediate action against the Vice Chairperson of the Waqf Board.
The NC leader also stressed on conducting an inquiry by the House Committee into irregularities in allotments and tenders. He said, “We want the Assembly Committee to review all the works done without e-tendering and hold the culprits accountable.
