Indian BSF man found dead in Tripura

Agarthala: An Indian Border Security Force (BSF) man was found dead in Tripura state in the North-East region of India.

According to Kashmir Media Service, the deceased, identified as 35-year-old Lalu Murmu, was found dead near the Chitabari Border Outpost (BOP) under Sabroom sub-division today.

According to the attending doctor, Pritam Das of Sabroom Sub-Divisional Hospital, the BSF man was “brought dead” to the hospital by his colleagues.

The exact cause of death is yet to be ascertained and a post-mortem examination will be conducted to determine the cause of his death.

The incident has cast a shadow of grief over the BSF unit and raised concerns about the circumstances surrounding the death.

Earlier on September 1, 2025 a Border Security Force (BSF) constable Ugra Ram, who was deployed at the Indo-Bangladesh border, allegedly committed suicide by shooting himself with his service rifle at Merupara border outpost in Sabroom subdivision of South Tripura.
