BJP supporters have no respect for Constitution, Supreme Court: KTR on Waqf order

Hyderabad, September 17 (KMS): Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) working president K. T. Rama Rao (KTR) has lashed out at the BJP and its supporters, accusing them of disrespecting both the Indian Constitution and the Supreme Court over their reaction to the Waqf (Amendment) Act ruling.

According to Kashmir Media Service, reacting to criticism after BRS welcomed the Supreme Court’s interim order on the Waqf Amendment Act 2025, KTR said BJP supporters were “rattled” because the verdict did not align with their agenda. “They respect neither the Constitution nor the apex court’s orders,” he wrote on X.

The BRS leader also accused BJP leaders of “shameless hypocrisy,” recalling that despite the massacre of 26 civilians in a Pakistan-sponsored terror attack earlier this year, the government allowed the national cricket team to play against Pakistan. “This, even as the victims’ families protested against such an inhuman betrayal,” he said.

“Unlike your chest-thumping brand of pseudo-nationalism, BRS is truly nationalist in letter and spirit. For us, nationalism means treating every Indian equally, irrespective of caste, creed, or religion. It means knowing the fine line between nationalism and jingoism,” KTR asserted.
