PM Shebaz says he raised voice for oppressed people of Gaza, Kashmir in UNGA
London: Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif has said that he got the opportunity to represent the 240 million people of Pakistan in the United Nations and become the voice of the oppressed people of Gaza and Kashmir.
According to Kashmir Media Service, Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif, talking to Pakistani journalists based in the UK, said: Congratulations to everyone, our visit to New York and Washington was very successful and useful.”
He said he raised his voice loudly in the General Assembly on the situation in Gaza, expressed solidarity with the Palestinian brothers and sisters and also raised his voice at the General Assembly forum for the freedom of Kashmir.
He said the lesson that Pakistan’s armed forces have taught India will always be remembered by it. He added that in the battle for truth, Pakistan had defeated India, by the grace and mercy of Allah Almighty and taught India such a lesson that it will remember for the rest of its life.
He said under the leadership of Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir, Pakistan achieved a historic victory in the war. During the war, the entire nation stood behind its armed forces, he added.
He said the Pakistan Air Force, led by Air Chief Marshal Zaheer Ahmed Babar Sidhu, showed courage and bravery and demonstrated professional skills to the fullest. The world, he said, was convinced that Pakistan’s nuclear capability is only for defensive purposes.
To a question, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif said that he met with President Donald Trump in Washington in a very useful, constructive and pleasant atmosphere and thanked President Donald Trump for playing an important role in the Pakistan-India ceasefire.
He said if the war had dragged on, it could have caused immense losses. “I told them that both countries are nuclear powers. If President Donald Trump had not played a timely and decisive role, the war would have had repercussions not only for the region but also for the world,” he remarked.
He said this is why the Pakistani nation nominated President Donald Trump for the Nobel Peace Prize. He said President Donald Trump has also played a role in ending tensions in the world.
He said a defence agreement has been signed with the friendly and brotherly country of Saudi Arabia. Pakistan, he said, was given immense respect during the visit to Saudi Arabia.
He said the Saudi leadership welcomed us in a magnificent manner, which is a source of pride for 240 million Pakistanis.
The Prime Minister said a positive outcome of the meeting on the situation in Gaza at the United Nations will be revealed very soon.
