Australian cricketers mock India’s handshake snub against Pakistan
Islamabad: A humorous video mocking the Indian cricket team over its refusal to shake hands with Pakistan during the Asia Cup has gone viral, created by Australian cricketers.
According to Kashmir Media Service, during the Asia Cup tournament, India’s decision not to shake hands with the Pakistan team drew widespread criticism for violating the spirit of the game. The controversy escalated when India also declined to receive the trophy from Pakistan Cricket Board and Asian Cricket Council chairman Mohsin Naqvi at the event’s closing ceremony.

Against this backdrop, Australia’s popular sports platform Kayo Sports released a satirical video in which male and female Australian players lampoon India’s behavior. At the start, the anchors joke, “We all know India is on its way. But we’ve identified one of their critical weakness.” The other one then chimes in, saying, “We know that they’re not huge fans of the traditional greeting (handshake), so we can throw them off before we’ve even bowled a ball.”
The video features Australia’s white-ball captain Mitchell Marsh, pacer Josh Hazlewood, all-rounder Glenn Maxwell, women cricketer Ellyse Perry, spinner Sophie Molineux, Grace Harris, and others, all humorously imitating India’s refusal to shake hands.
Notably, Australian and Indian teams are ready to face each other in three ODIs and five T20Is, beginning on Sunday, October 19, in Perth.
