Hope elected NC Rajya Sabha nominees will strongly represent IIOJK people: Mehbooba Mufti
Srinagar: People’s Democratic Party (PDP) President Mehbooba Mufti has expressed her hope that the three National Conference (NC) candidates elected to the Rajya Sabha will effectively represent the people of Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir and raise their voices in the Indian parliament.
According to Kashmir Media Service, taking to X, Mehbooba congratulated Choudhary Muhammad Ramzan, Sajjad Kichloo, and Shami Oberoi on their success in the Rajya Sabha elections.
“I hope they will use this platform to strongly represent and speak up for the people of Jammu and Kashmir,” Mehbooba said.
Earlier on Thursday, Mehooba Mufti had announced her party’s support to the NC candidates, saying that PDP MLAs would vote for the first three candidates in a bid to “to keep the BJP away”. However, PDP legislators didn’t vote for the fourth seat as had been stated by Mehbooba a day earlier.
