Protest rally in Quetta against India’s illegal occupation of Jammu and Kashmir

Quetta: A protest rally was held in Quetta today against India’s unconstitutional and illegal occupation of the state of Jammu and Kashmir on October 27, 1947.

According to Kashmir Media Service, All Parties Hurriyat Conference Azad Jammu and Kashmir (APHC-AJK) chapter Information Secretary Mushtaq Ahmed Butt addressing the rally said it was the darkest day in the history of Kashmir.

He said it was the day when India, violating all international laws, the principles of the partition of the sub-continent and the wishes of the Kashmiri people, entered its troops in Jammu and Kashmir and occupied an independent and sovereign state through force.

Leaders of political, religious and social parties of Balochistan, student organizations, government representatives and people belonging to different schools of thought participated in the rally in large numbers while the participants held banners and placards in favour of Kashmir’s freedom and against India.

Mushtaq Ahmed Butt said the Kashmiri people have never accepted India’s illegal occupation but launched an endless struggle against it, as a result of which lakhs of Kashmiris were martyred, thousands went missing and hundreds of women became widows.

He said when India failed to break the resolve of Kashmiris despite all its state power, it repealed the special status of occupied Jammu and Kashmir and bifurcated it in union territories.

He said after this, India started an evil conspiracy to destroy the Muslim identity of Kashmir through demographic change and non-state residents are being settled in the valley by issuing fake domiciles to them so that Kashmiris can be turned into a minority in their own land.

The APHC-AJK information secretary said that despite all these cruel tactics, the Kashmiri people did not give up the Kashmir freedom movement and will continue it until complete freedom from Indian rule is achieved.

Mushtaq Ahmed Butt, while expressing special gratitude to the people of Balochistan, said they have always fully supported the freedom struggle of the Kashmiris. He said the Kashmiri people love Pakistan more than their own lives. He said, “Our martyrs are buried in the Pakistani flag, because Pakistan is part of the faith and identity of the Kashmiris.”

The rally was also addressed by Professor Musawar Kakar, Additional Commissioner Abdullah, Mirza Shamshad, President of the PML-N Kashmir Wing and other speakers who strongly condemned India’s usurping occupation.
