Srinagar : Kashmiris on both sides of the Line of Control (LoC) and across the world are observing October 27 as Black Day today to convey to the world that India has occupied their motherland illegally and against their aspirations.
According to Kashmir Media Service, call for the observance of the Black Day has been given by the All Parties Hurriyat Conference. Protest marches, rallies and seminars are being held in Azad Jammu and Kashmir, Pakistan and across the world to condemn the invasion of the territory by the Indian Army on October 27, 1947, as well as the revocation of the special status of occupied Jammu and Kashmir by the Narendra Modi-led Hindutva government on August 5, 2019.
It was on this day in 1947 when Indian troops in total violation of the spirit of the Partition Plan of the Subcontinent, militarily invaded Jammu and Kashmir and illegally occupied it against the will of the Kashmiri people.
The All Parties Hurriyat Conference, on the occasion , called upon the international community to help the oppressed people of occupied Jammu and Kashmir in ending India’s illegal occupation of their homeland.
The APHC also reiterated its demand for the immediate release of all illegally detained political prisoners, including its Chairman Masarrat Aalam Butt, Shabbir Ahmed Shah, Mohammad Yasin Malik, Aasiya Andrabi, Naheeda Nasreen, Fehmeeda Sofi, Nayeem Ahmad Khan, Ayaz Akbar, Peer Saifullah, Raja Merajuddin Kalwal, Bilal Siddiqi, Maulvi Bashir Irfani, Mushtaq-ul-Islam, Abdul Ahad Parra, Zafar Akbar Butt, Khurram Parvez, and others.
