RSS should be banned, says Congress president Kharge

New Delhi: Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge has called for a ban on the RSS, stating that the organization, along with the BJP, is responsible for many of the law and order issues currently plaguing the country.

According to Kashmir Media Service, speaking to media persons in Delhi, Kharge strongly criticized Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi for permitting government employees to maintain ties with the RSS, describing this as an affront to the legacy of Sardar Patel. Kharge cited Patel’s 1948 criticism of the RSS following the assassination of Gandhi as evidence of the organization’s problematic nature.

Kharge said, “What Sardar Patel warned about should not be ignored by Narendra Modi and Amit Shah.” He added, “Sardar Patel himself imposed a ban on the RSS. Allowing government employees to associate with this organization today is nothing short of an insult to Patel.”

The Congress President also expressed concern over the current direction of the Modi government, stating that its policies were not in the best interest of the country.
