Shakeel Ahmad Naqshbandi appointed Deputy Imam of Srinagar Jamia Masjid
Srinagar: In Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir, Anjuman Auqaf of Jamia Masjid, Srinagar, has appointed Shakeel Ahmad Naqshbandi as Deputy Imam of the Jamia Masjid, Srinagar.
According to Kashmir Media Service, due to the old age and poor health of Imam of Jamia Masjid, Srinagar, and a great religious scholar Maulana Ahmad Saeed Naqshbandi, his son Shakeel Ahmad Naqshbandi has been appointed as Deputy Imam of the Jamia Masjid.
President of the Anjuman Mirwaiz Umar Farooq handed over the responsibilities of Deputy Imam to Shakeel Ahmad Naqshbandi in a special ceremony on the occasion of Friday prayers and in the presence of imam sahib and office-bearers of the Anjuman Auqaf, the said person was formally tied.
Mirwaiz paid tribute to Maulana Ahmad Saeed Naqshbandi for his long service on behalf of himself and Anjuman Auqaf and prayed to Allah Almighty for his health and well-being.
He expressed the hope that Shakeel Ahmed Naqshbandi would follow in the footsteps of his greats and predecessors, especially his father Maulana Ahmed Saeed Naqshbandi, and strive to fulfill his responsibilities towards the historic Jamia Masjid in a good manner.
