IIOJK: Students protest lack of basic amenities in Bandipora

Srinagar: In Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IIOJK), students staged a protest in Boniyar, Onagam village of Bandipora district against the lack of a proper road and other basic civic amenities, raising slogans against the administration’s neglect of the area.
According to Kashmir Media Service, a large number of students gathered on the village’s main road and held a peaceful protest, saying the absence of basic infrastructure has made their lives extremely difficult. They said the dilapidated condition of the road forces them to spend a considerable time reaching their school, while the village is also facing an acute shortage of drinking water amid the prevailing hot weather.
The protesting students also criticized the area’s elected Member of the Legislative Assembly (MLA), saying he only appears during election campaigns to seek votes but has failed to address the problems faced by the local population since being elected.
Most of the protesters were female students, who warned that they would intensify their protest if the administration failed to resolve the village longstanding issues without further delay.
