Bomb threat on Indian flight triggers emergency landing at Mumbai Airport

New Delhi: An emergency was declared at the airport after a bomb threat was reported on a flight coming from Kuwait to Hyderabad, India. However, the threat was later determined to be a hoax.

According to Kashmir Media Service, Indian media outlets reported that a threatening email, claiming explosives were abroad the flight, was received Tuesday morning. Upon receiving the threat, the aircraft was diverted to Mumbai Airport instead of its original destination, Hyderabad. Passengers and their luggage were immediately evacuated, and a thorough search of the plane was conducted. Indian security agencies thoroughly examined the aircraft but found no explosives.

Authorities have confirmed that the bomb threat was unfounded, though investigations are ongoing to trace the individual behind the hoax.
