Three women among five persons arrested in Manipur

Imphal: Indian forces’ personnel have arrested five persons, including three women, in Indian military violence-hit Manipur state.

According to Kashmir Media Service, Manipur state has been under the President’s rule since February 2025.

Indian  forces arrested five liberation active cadres, including three women, of the Kangleipak Communist Party (Taibanganba) from Langthabal Khunou in Thoubal district.

Five militants, including three women, have been arrested by army forces in two districts of Manipur, police said.

It is worth mentioning that Manipur has been in the grip of violence since May 2023. There is intense tension between the Methi (Hindu) and Kuki (Christian) tribes in the state. So far, more than 250 people have been killed in the state while thousands have been displaced. The state was ruled by the Bharatiya Janata Party. Due to the serious situation in the state, President’s rule was imposed here in February this year.
