APHC-AJK holds prayer session in Islamabad

Islamabad: A prayer session was held in Islamabad under the auspices of the All Parties Hurriyat Conference Azad Jammu and Kashmir (APHC-AJK) chapter on the death of prominent Kashmir freedom movement leader Bashir Ahmed Gauhar.

According to Kashmir Media Service, the prayer session, held in Islamabad under the leadership of APHC-AJK Convener Ghulam Muhammad Safi, was attended by the Kashmiri Hurriyat leadership and others and special prayers were offered for the forgiveness and elevation of the deceased.

On the occasion, Ghulam Muhammad Safi in his address paid tribute to Bashir Ahmed Gauhar for his long, selfless and historic services to the Kashmir freedom movement. He said the deceased had dedicated his entire life to the movement for the right to self-determination of Kashmiris.

He expressed deep grief and sorrow over the death of Bashir Ahmed Gohar, saying his sacrifices, intellectual perseverance and principled stance are a beacon of light for future generations.

He reiterated the Kashmiris’ resolve to continue the mission and struggle of the deceased at all costs till taking it to its logical conclusion.

Ghulam Muhammad Safi expressed his heartfelt condolences to the family of the deceased on behalf of the APHC-AJK and prayed for their great patience.

He prayed to Allah Almighty to rest the departed soul in eternal peace and give courage to the bereaved family to bear the irreparable loss.

Advocate Pervez Ahmed, Mahmood Ahmed Saghar, Shamim Shawl, Nisar Mirza, Syed Ijaz Rahmani, Javed Jahangir, Zahid Ashraf, Zahid Safi, Sheikh Abdul Majid, Zahoor Ahmed and others attended the prayer session.
