NIA conducts raids in Shopian and Pulwama over Delhi Red Fort blast case

Srinagar: India’s National Investigation Agency (NIA), notorious for its crackdown on Kashmiris, carried out raids at two locations in the Shopian and Pulwama districts of Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IIOJK).
According to Kashmir Media Service, NIA officers, assisted by Indian Centre Reserve Police Force (CRPF) and police, conducted searches in the Padpawan area of Shopian and the Pampore locality of Pulwama
Indian officials said that the raids were linked to the November 10 blast near the Red Fort in New Delhi and that one accused in the case, identified as Yasir Dar, was brought to assist in search operations. Dar, a resident of Shopian, was arrested by the NIA on December 18, 2025, becoming the ninth person to be detained in connection with the Delhi blast case.
Raids were going on when this report was being filed, and further details are awaited.
Notably, most of those arrested in connection with the Delhi blast case are from IIOJK, including doctors, with charges largely based on fabricated evidence. Human rights groups and legal observers have expressed concern that Indian authorities are using the investigation into the case as a cover to target Kashmiri professionals. They warn that such actions risk criminalizing Kashmir’s educated community, eroding its intellectual standing, and further perpetuating a harmful narrative that paints ordinary Kashmiris as security threats.
