Many barracks damaged in blaze at Indian army camp in Kupwara

Srinagar: Several barracks at an Indian Army camp in Kupwara district of Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir were extensively damaged in a fire incident.

According to Kashmir Media Service, the incident occurred shortly after midnight at the Army camp located in the Sadana area. Preliminary reports indicated that four to five barracks were affected by the blaze.

Officials from Fire and Emergency Services in Chokibal said that the structures were primarily wooden and roofed with GCI sheets, which contributed to the rapid spread of flames. They confirmed that the fire caused extensive damage to the barracks before it was brought under control.

The exact cause of the fire was not immediately known, and there were no reports of injuries or casualties in the incident, officials added.
