Profiling mosques in IIOJK is “unwarranted”, deepens alienation: Tarigami

Srinagar: Leader of Communist Party of India-Marxist (CPI-M) and Member of Legislative Assembly (MLA) from Kulgam, Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir, Mohammad Yousuf Tarigami has stated that profiling mosques in Kashmir is “unwarranted” as it only adds another layer to prevailing discontent.
According to Kashmir Media Service, Mohammad Yousuf Tarigami in a post on X wrote, “Profiling mosques in Kashmir is unwarranted as it only adds another layer to prevailing discontent. Authorities must refrain from targeting or controlling places of worship of a specific community as such actions amount to interference in religious affairs and undermine the constitutional guarantee of freedom of religion. Such actions only deepen alienation and erode public trust.”
