Modi-led Indian govt suffering from global isolation: Shanta Chhetri

New Delhi: Senior Indian politician and former MP Shanta Chhetri has said that the Prime Minister Narendra Modi-led Indian government is suffering from global isolation due to internal turmoil and failed foreign policy.

According to Kashmir Media Service, Shanta Chhetri in a statement said that contrary to the Modi government’s loud and clear claims, India is currently facing serious political, economic and diplomatic problems.

She said Modi’s diplomacy is not in line with the ground realities and is based on false claims, adding serious questions are being raised about India’s economy, foreign policy and strategic position, while rising taxes, unemployment and inflation have increased the problems of the people.

Shanta Chhetri said the US imposed trade tariffs on India and India had to back down from important projects like Iran’s Chabahar port, which is proof of the failure of Indian foreign policy. She said the Indian policy of isolating Pakistan globally has proven to be completely unsuccessful, as Pakistan has further strengthened its relations with the US, Saudi Arabia, Turkey and China.

She said the emerging alliance between Islamic countries is becoming a new strategic challenge for India. She added that India is currently under pressure not only economically but also militarily, while internally unemployment, inflation, inequality and environmental problems have become serious.

She said the Modi government is inciting religious and cultural conflicts to divert attention from its failures.
