‘India involved in gross human rights violations in IIOJK’

LAHORE: Kashmir Centre, Lahore, organized a protest demonstration outside the press club to observe India’s Republic Day as Black Day.

Addressing the demonstration, leaders of various political and social parties said that India’s democracy is the biggest fraud in the world.

The protesters carried black flags and placards on which slogans were written against India’s oppression and human rights violations in occupied Jammu and Kashmir.

Addressing the demonstration, the speakers said that on the one hand, India is celebrating Republic Day and, on the other, it is converting occupied Jammu and Kashmir into a military cantonment and deploying military troops in various places.

Despite the imposition of curfew, the Kashmiri people come out of their homes and observe this day as Black Day against India and hold strong protest demonstrations. They said India is celebrating Republic Day today, but on the other hand, Kashmiris are observing this day as Black Day. There is neither democracy nor human rights in occupied Kashmir, there is only oppression and violence, they added.

They said the Kashmir issue is not an internal matter of India but an internationally recognised disputed territory and the people of Kashmir have to decide for themselves.

They said India is involved in gross human rights violations and since August 5, 2019, all human and civil rights of the Kashmiri people have been snatched. They said the international human rights organizations should take notice of these steps by India.

The speakers welcomed the offer of mediation by the United Nations to resolve the Kashmir dispute and demanded of the World Body to force India to immediately implement its resolutions to grant the Kashmiri people their birthright to self-determination.

They said the world should know that the Kashmiri people will continue their struggle for freedom for centuries, but they will never accept India’s slavery. They said India’s Republic Day is a Black Day for Kashmiris and all international organizations and the civilized world should take notice of India’s brutalities in occupied Jammu and Kashmir.

The speakers said India declares itself a democratic and secular state, while the reality is that it is a fascist Hindu state where no minority enjoys any protection or rights. They further said India has also imposed restrictions on media institutions to further exploit the defenceless people in occupied Kashmir so that no voice against its oppression and oppression can go out of Kashmir.

At the end of the demonstration, Allama Mushtaq Ahmad Qadri offered special prayers for the elevation of the martyrs of Kashmir and the early freedom of Jammu and Kashmir from India.

Former advisor to the government Naseebullah Gardezi, leader of All Parties Hurriyat Conference Azad Jammu and Kashmir Engineer Mushtaq Mahmood, in-charge of Kashmir Centre Aam-ul-Hassan, President of the PML-N Lahore, Azad Kashmir Division, Raja Shahzad Ahmed, Senior Vice President Meraj Din Shaheen, Humna, Mirza Abdul Rashid Jaral Advocate, Captain (Retd) Muhammad Mushtaq, Aftab Nazki, Javed Dar, Bilal Butt, Muhammad Ashfaq, Nazia Butt, Maqbool Awan, Chaudhry Siddique, Allama Mushtaq Qadri, Allama Fida-ur-Rehman, Anwar Qazi, Professor Muhammad Mazhar Alam, Naeem Butt, Naveed Malik, Basharat Vohra, Mehmood Kashmiri, Faisal Fabani, Maqsood Chughtai, Abdul Manan, Nazar Bhandar and others addressed the gathering.
