‘Minorities, lower castes and vulnerable groups increasingly facing violence in India’
Islamabad: Reports circulating on social media and local media indicate that minorities, lower castes and vulnerable groups across India are increasingly facing violence while the response from authorities and political leadership remains inconsistent.
According to Kashmir Media Service, a cluster of recent incidents across different Indian states has revived debate about rising intolerance, vigilante violence and political impunity in the country and the following 11 incidents have taken place in one day.
1. Himachal Pradesh – Multiple reports of deadly weapons being distributed among Hindutva extremists.
2. Delhi (Hotel Ashoka) – Allegations by a Meitei woman against BJP MLA Sorokhaibam Rajen Singh for paying ₹50,000 for a night.
3. Delhi (Hotel Ashoka) – Earlier allegation against former Speaker Thokchom Satyabrata Singh involving Rs 1 lakh payment for a similar encounter.
4. Pune, Maharashtra – A transgender woman Bipasha Menickam forcing cow dung into a Muslim boy’s mouth and abusing him.

6. Lucknow, Uttar Pradesh – Dalit youth Suraj Gautam (21) stabbed to death by Mohit Tiwari and Shivani Tiwari after wishing “Happy Holi.”
7. Bihar (Madhubani district) – Roshan Khatoon, a fasting Muslim woman, brutally assaulted by a mob and allegedly forced to drink alcohol mixed with urine before dying of injuries.
8. Ghazipur, Uttar Pradesh – Aas Mohammad (60) assaulted in police custody after a Holi dispute and later shot dead.

10. Uttam Nagar, Delhi – Muslim woman, told Muslim residents being assaulted with iron rods and later taken to Tihar Jail after hospitalization.
11. Caste-linked violence case – A report circulating online claiming a two-month-old baby was beaten to death during a caste-based dispute when the family sought blessings at an upper-caste temple.
These highlights how multiple cases involving communal tension, caste discrimination and mob violence surfaced almost simultaneously across several Indian states, contributing to the perception of a wider pattern of social unrest in India.
Taken together, it indicates failure of the Modi Government as these incidents have highlighted India’s communal polarization, caste discrimination and the accountability of political and law-enforcement institutions.
The repeated nature of such events reflects deeper structural tensions in the country’s social and political environment rather than isolated occurrences. Supporters of the government, who are responsible for such actions, enjoying impunity and state don’t take actions are making an optical Ayurvedic response.
