Family protests youth’s mysterious death in Jammu
Jammu: Family members and relatives of a youth who died under mysterious circumstances staged a protest in Jammu district, blaming police inaction and demanding the arrest and punishment of those responsible for his death.
According to Kashmir Media Service, carrying placards, banners, and the cremated remains of the deceased Karan Kumar, the protesters assembled on the road at Kalyana Ainia village on the outskirts of Jammu and raised slogans demanding justice for the youth.
The family said that despite the registration of a case and the arrest of some suspects earlier, the accused were later released, and no further action has been taken by the police. The father of the deceased said that the suspects in the case were seen freely interacting with police officials.
The protest disrupted normal movement in the area for some time as relatives and villagers gathered in large numbers and demanded an explanation regarding the circumstances surrounding the youth’s death.
The family said they want authorities to reveal the motive behind the killing and ensure that those responsible are arrested and brought to justice.
“We want to know why our son was killed and who is responsible for his death. The guilty must be arrested and punished,” a family member told reporters during the protest. The protesters demanded a transparent investigation into the incident and sought intervention from higher authorities to ensure justice for the family.
