Mamata Banerjee blasts ECI over midnight transfers, for being ‘anti-Bengali’

Kolkata: West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee has strongly criticized the Election Commission of India’s (ECI) midnight transfer of top officials, including Chief Secretary Nandini Chakraborty and Home Secretary J.P. Meena.
According to Kashmir Media Service, Banerjee accused the ECI of being “anti-Bengali” and “anti-women”, alleging that the BJP is using proxies to sabotage the state.
She questioned the timing of the transfers, especially before Eid, and warned that her residence might be targeted, similar to the alleged attack on state minister Shashi Panja’s house.
Banerjee urged people to remain calm and not fall prey to provocations, asserting that the government in Bengal won’t change.
