Kashmiris’ humanitarian support for Iran exposes India’s political opportunism
Iran embassy thanks Kashmiris for solidarity, Delhi attempts to exploit goodwill

Srinagar: In Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir, the outpouring of humanitarian support by Kashmiri people for Iran against US-Israel aggression has once again highlighted their deep-rooted emotional and religious bonds with the world, even as observers say India is attempting to exploit this solidarity for political gains.
According to Kashmir Media Service, the Embassy of Iran in India has expressed heartfelt gratitude to the people of occupied Jammu and Kashmir for their humanitarian assistance and solidarity with the Iranian people during the ongoing crisis.
In a message posted on social media, the embassy thanked Kashmiris for their kindness, stating that their support would never be forgotten. The message also acknowledged the people of India.
Reports said touching scenes have emerged from across the occupied territory, where Kashmiris, including women, elderly citizens and even children, donated money and valuables as a gesture of solidarity with the people of Iran. In one instance, a young girl donated her savings, while an elderly woman offered gold preserved for decades.
Political analysts, however, said the development comes in the backdrop of the Middle East conflict, including a visit by Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi to Israel, followed by Israeli military actions against Iran, which many observers view as being tacitly supported by New Delhi.
They said that while Kashmiri Muslims have demonstrated genuine humanitarian concern and solidarity with Iran, Indian media and authorities are now attempting to project this goodwill as a reflection of India’s stance in order to seek favor with Tehran.
Experts maintained that such attempts reflect India’s contradictory policies, as it simultaneously strengthens ties with Israel while trying to capitalize on the sentiments of Muslims in occupied Jammu and Kashmir for diplomatic leverage.
They added that the spontaneous support by Kashmiris underscores their independent political and emotional identity, which remains distinct from New Delhi’s policies and narratives.
Analysts said the situation once again exposes India’s opportunistic approach in international affairs, where humanitarian gestures of oppressed people are used to mask its strategic alignments and political interests.
