Ram Navami provocation: Hindu man fires arrow at mosque in Maharashtra’s Ahmednagar
Mumbai: In a provocative act targeting religious sentiments of Muslims, a Hindu man fired an arrow at a mosque during a Ram Navami procession in Ahmednagar, Maharashtra, sparking widespread outrage among the Muslim community.
According to Kashmir Media Service, footage from the event on Friday shows a young man wearing a saffron scarf smiling as he symbolically releases an arrow towards a neighbouring mosque. The act was reportedly met with loud cheers from the surrounding crowd.
Several individuals have been identified in the circulating clips, including Vishal, Piyush Manocha, Akash Atul, Sonu Dhadade, and Swapnil Anil.
Critics have expressed serious concerns over the route of the procession, which passed close to the mosque, calling the act a deliberate attempt to provoke communal tensions during a religious festival.
The incident has triggered sharp backlash on social media and from community leaders, with many questioning the organisers’ decision and demanding accountability. Authorities have yet to issue an official statement or confirm any action against those involved.
The incident comes amid heightened tensions during Hindu religious processions in the region, where Muslims often bear the brunt of provocative acts.
The video has intensified debates on the need to maintain harmony and respect places of worship during public religious celebrations.
