APHC pays rich tributes to Dr. Guru, urges resolution of Kashmir dispute

Srinagar: The All Parties Hurriyat Conference has paid rich tributes to Kashmiri martyrs and noted Kashmiri physician, Dr. Abdul Ahad Guru, on his 33rd martyrdom anniversary in Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir, while urging the resolution of the Kashmir dispute.

According to Kashmir Media Service, the APHC spokesman, Advocate Abdul Rashid Manhas, described Kashmir as the root cause of tension in the South Asian region, highlighting its role in sparking wars between Pakistan and India. He noted the alarming escalation of nuclear arsenals and defense budgets by both countries despite widespread misery among their populations.

“Kashmiris are facing Indian wrath for demanding their right to self-determination, with Indian troops conducting widespread operations and arrests to suppress the freedom movement. The UN has upheld Kashmiris’ right to decide their future through plebiscite, but India has been defying these resolutions,” The spokesman said.

The APHC demanded an independent probe into the killing of Abdul Ahad Guru and all other extra-judicial killings of Kashmiris by Indian troops and urged the UN to resolve the dispute and stop bloodshed in IIOJK

The spokesman said that Dr. Abdul Ahad Guru was an educated and reputed heart surgeon, who sacrificed his life for the Kashmir cause.

Dr. Guru was prominent physician in IIOJK and at the same time contributed a lot to the freedom struggle as a great think tank. He was associated with Jammu and Kashmir Liberation Front. After being abducted on March 31 by Indian army, he was martyred on April 1 and his body was dumped on a roadside.
