Mother of detained Hurriyat leader Zafar Akbar Butt passes away in Srinagar

Srinagar: In Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir, the mother of illegally detained Hurriyat leader Zafar Akbar Butt and APHC AJK leader Altaf Ahmed Butt passed away in Srinagar after a prolonged illness.
According to Kashmir Media Service, Zafar Akbar Butt has been illegally detained in Jammu jail for more than six years. The Indian authorities did not allow him to meet his ailing mother during his detention, nor was he granted permission to attend her last rites, reflecting the harsh and inhumane treatment meted out to Kashmiri political prisoners.
Hurriyat leaders expressed deep grief and sorrow over the demise of the mother of Zafar Akbar Butt and Altaf Ahmed Butt. They prayed for eternal peace for the departed soul and extended their heartfelt condolences to the bereaved family, praying for strength and patience for them to bear this irreparable loss.
The incident has once again highlighted the plight of detained Kashmiri leaders and the denial of basic humanitarian rights by the occupation authorities.
