Thousands of Sikh pilgrims arrive in Pakistan for Baisakhi celebrations, applaud Islamabad’s peace role
Appreciate Islamabad’s role in reducing US-Iran tension
Islamabad: Thousands of Sikh pilgrims from all over the world, especially from India, have come to Pakistan to participate in Baisakhi celebrations.
According to Kashmir Media Service, the Sikh pilgrims have come to Pakistan to visit Makani Sahib, Panja Sahib and other holy places, where they performed religious rituals and found spiritual peace.
The excellent arrangements, security and hospitality made by Pakistan won the hearts of the pilgrims. The Sikh pilgrims expressed their impressions openly.
A Sikh pilgrim in a conversation with the media said, “We are very grateful to the Pakistan government for giving us so much respect, coming here we feel like we are in our own home.”
Another pilgrim said, “The people of Pakistan are very loving, we got respect and convenience everywhere, we will never forget this hospitality.”
While discussing the global situation, the pilgrims also appreciated Pakistan’s positive role in reducing tensions between the US and Iran. A pilgrim said, “The efforts made by Pakistan for ceasefire are commendable, we thank them from the core of our hearts for it. War is not the solution to any problem, love and peace are the real path.”
He stressed that the world needs brotherhood instead of hatred. “If the world is at peace, everyone will be happy, we should promote love, not war,” he added.
A senior pilgrim termed Pakistan’s role for global peace as a positive step and expressed hope that such steps would continue in the future. According to him, Pakistan not only promoted religious harmony but also sent a beautiful message of peace, tolerance and brotherhood to the world.
More than 2,800 Sikh pilgrims from all over the world, especially from India, are present in Pakistan. According to official figures, Pakistan issued over 2,800 visas, while about 2,238 pilgrims in the first group entered Pakistan through the Wagah border. The Sikh pilgrims will stay in Pakistan for 10 days.
