Srinagar: The All Parties Hurriyat Conference has expressed serious concern over India’s systematic policies aimed at eroding the distinct Kashmiri identity and undermining the ongoing struggle for self-determination in Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir.

According to Kashmir Media Service, the APHC spokesman Advocate Abdul Rashid Minhas in a statement issued in Srinagar said that the policies of the Modi-led India regime are designed to strip Kashmiris of their homeland, identity, and political aspirations, warning that such measures are intended to weaken the collective resistance movement of the people of the territory.

The APHC maintained that the BJP leadership is hell bent on altering the Muslim-majority character of Jammu and Kashmir, stressing that the preservation of demographic identity remains central to the Kashmiri people’s future. It cautioned that any erosion of identity would directly impact the strength of the freedom movement.

The forum further observed that the BJP-RSS vision is linked to reviving a pre-Islamic Hindu civilizational narrative in the region, while the Modi government is reportedly pursuing the long-standing RSS agenda of complete integration of Jammu and Kashmir with India.

The APHC also said that India is systematically laying the groundwork for settler colonialism in the territory, adding that the revocation of Article 370 was intended to facilitate the settlement of non-locals in the region and accelerate demographic change.

Urging unity among Kashmiris, the APHC emphasized that internal cohesion is essential to resist the “machinations” of the BJP in IIOJK. It reiterated that safeguarding identity, land, and political rights remains central to the Kashmiri struggle for self-determination.
