NC, allies to protest in Delhi for restoration of IIOJK statehood

Srinagar : The ruling National Conference has announced that its legislature party will protest in New Delhi on the first day of Indian Parliament’s Monsoon Session to demand immediate restoration of IIOJK statehood.
According to Kashmir Media Service, NC chief spokesperson Tanvir Sadiq said MPs, MLAs and allies including CPI-M and independents will take part. “Our primary demand will be the return of our statehood and constitutional guarantees,” he said after a meeting chaired by Chief Minister Omar Abdullah at Dachigam.
Senior leader Javed Rana said NC will reach out to all political parties in Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir to join the protest, calling statehood an issue “beyond party lines”.
The party resolved to intensify its campaign to press New Delhi to fulfill its commitment. The announcement comes amid growing pressure on NC over statehood restoration, especially after the India’s recent outreach to Ladakh groups seeking similar guarantees.
