IIOJK: Massive forest fire engulfs multiple areas in Rajouri
Jammu: A massive forest fire has broken out at multiple locations in the forests of Rajouri district in Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IIOJK), triggering panic among residents of nearby villages.
According to Kashmir Media Service, the fire has spread to forest areas in Khadian, Androla, Chakkli, Miahadi, and the Bathuni block. Officials said the difficult terrain and remote locations have made it impossible for fire tenders to reach several affected spots.
Firefighting operations are underway to prevent the blaze from spreading further, officials said.
A Forest official said firefighting teams were facing severe logistical challenges as many of the affected areas are inaccessible, hampering efforts to contain the blaze.
