Rich tribute paid to veteran Hurriyat leaders Musaddiq Adil, Saadullah Tantrey

Islamabad: The All Parties Hurriyat Conference Azad Jammu and Kashmir (APHC-AJK) chapter paid glowing tributes to veteran Kashmiri Hurriyat leaders Musaddiq Adil and Saadullah Tantrey on their death anniversaries, describing their sacrifices, steadfastness and services as an enduring source of inspiration for future generations.

According to Kashmir Media Service, a commemorative meeting was held at the APHC-AJK office in Islamabad under the chairmanship of Convener Ghulam Muhammad Safi. Speakers highlighted the lifelong struggle of the two leaders for the Kashmir freedom movement, the right to self-determination and the legitimate rights of the Kashmiri people.

The participants said Musaddiq Adil remained a courageous and principled Hurriyat leader who never compromised on his political stance despite difficult circumstances. They also recalled the sacrifices of his family, particularly the enforced disappearance of his younger brother, Khurshid Adil, during the 1990s.

Paying tribute to Saadullah Tantrey, the speakers described him as a steadfast and dedicated activist who played a key role in advancing the Kashmir freedom movement in the Jammu region despite severe repression and limited resources. They noted that he suffered immense personal sacrifices, including the loss of an eye during the struggle, while members of his family also rendered significant sacrifices.

Addressing the gathering, Ghulam Muhammad Safi reiterated that Pakistan had consistently supported the Kashmir cause at diplomatic, political and international forums and said Kashmiris valued Pakistan’s continued political, diplomatic and moral support.

The participants reaffirmed their commitment to carrying forward the mission of the martyrs, prisoners and families who have sacrificed for the Kashmir freedom movement through peaceful political and diplomatic means.

Among those who attended the ceremony were senior Hurriyat leaders Muhammad Farooq Rehmani, Mahmood Ahmad Saghar, Mir Tahir Masood, Secretary General Parvez Ahmad, Hassan-ul-Banna, Madam Shamim Shawl, Muhammad Rafiq Dar, Sheikh Abdul Mateen, Sheikh Muhammad Yaqoob, Daud Khan, Javed Butt, Nisar Mirza, Ejaz Rehmani, Haji Muhammad Sultan, Mian Muzaffar, Zahid Safi, Imtiaz Wani, Sheikh Abdul Majeed, Muhammad Shafi Dar, Syed Gulshan, Manzoor Ahmad Dar, Nazir Karnahi, Zahid Mujtaba, Owais Bilal, Rais Mir, Qazi Imran, Imtiaz Butt, Abdul Rashid Butt and Information Secretary Mushtaq Ahmad Butt.
