Fresh rains bring spring-like chill to occupied Kashmir Valley

Srinagar : Fresh rains lashed several parts of Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir on Saturday, bringing a noticeable dip in temperatures and giving the Kashmir Valley an early spring-like feel even in the middle of June

.According to Kashmir Media Service, the Meteorological Centre Srinagar said maximum temperatures remained below normal across most stations in Kashmir division.

Srinagar recorded a maximum temperature of 23.8°C, which was 4.2°C below normal, while the tourist resort of Pahalgam in south Kashmir settled at 17.0°C, 6.7°C below the seasonal average. The famous resort of Gulmarg recorded 16.6°C, also remaining 2.2°C below normal.

Several places received rainfall during the past 24 hours, with Pahalgam recording 13 mm rainfall, Qazigund 1.3 mm and Gulmarg 1.6 mm.

The Meteorological Department has forecast scattered light to moderate rain and thunderstorms across IIOJK over the next 24 hours. Similar weather conditions are expected to persist over the following two days, with intermittent showers and thunderstorm activity likely at scattered places across the territory.
