Panic in Rajouri as man-induced land sinking damages homes, farmland

Jamm: In Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir, panic gripped Kotli village of Manjakote tehsil after land sinking over the past 48 hours damaged farmland and houses, with locals blaming highway construction work using heavy machinery.
According to Kashmir Media Service, a huge portion of land has sunk, causing major damage to agricultural fields. At least four structures have suffered severe damage while several others are on the verge of collapse.
Locals said they are terrified of further sinking as construction of a new highway stretch is underway in the area, shaking the ground and destabilizing the terrain.
Deputy Commissioner Rajouri Abhishek Sharma led a team of senior officers to the spot to assess the situation. The Public Works Department has deployed machinery to restore a road blocked by the sinking.
