APHC-AJK delegation meets chairman of Parliamentary Committee on Kashmir

Islamabad: A delegation of the All Parties Hurriyat Conference (APHC) Azad Jammu and Kashmir chapter called on Rana Muhammad Qasim Noon, Chairman of the Parliamentary Committee on Kashmir, at the Parliament House in Islamabad.
According to Kashmir Media Service, the meeting focused on the current grave situation in Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir, the challenges being faced by the Kashmiri people, and various matters related to the Kashmir dispute.
The APHC delegation briefed the Chairman about the deteriorating human rights situation in the occupied territory following India’s illegal and unilateral actions of August 5, 2019. They highlighted that Kashmiri people are facing severe restrictions and all their basic rights have been usurped.
Federal Minister and Chairman of the Parliamentary Committee on Kashmir, Rana Muhammad Qasim Noon, reaffirmed Pakistan’s unwavering moral, political and diplomatic support for the Kashmiri people. He stated that the Kashmir dispute is a longstanding and important international issue, and without a just and lasting solution to it, durable peace in the region cannot be established.
Rana Qasim Noon paid rich tributes to the sacrifices and struggle of the Kashmiri people. He assured the delegation that the Parliamentary Committee on Kashmir will continue to play an active role in effectively highlighting the Kashmiri voice at national and international levels and will further strengthen its efforts for the promotion of the Kashmir cause.
The APHC-AJK delegation was led by Convener Ghulam Muhammad Safi. On the occasion, the delegation presented written recommendations signed by its members regarding the situation in the occupied territory and ways to resolve issues wisely.
The delegation included Muhammad Farooq Rahmani, Mahmood Ahmad Saghar, Shameem Shawl, Sheikh Muhammad Yaqoob, Altaf Ahmad Butt, Sheikh Abdul Mateen, Raja Khadim Hussain and Imtiaz Wani.
Barrister Sundas Malik, Dr. Asma Shakir Khawaja and Syed Muhammad Numan Shah were also present during the meeting.
