Srinagar Muharram procession voices solidarity with oppressed across globe

Srinagar: Under its announced Muharram programme, Jammu and Kashmir Anjuman Sharie Shian organized grand Alam processions on the 4th of Muharram in Srinagar, where thousands of devotees paid tribute to Imam Hussain (RA) and the martyrs of Karbala.
According to Kashmir Media Service, participants expressed solidarity with oppressed people across the world, especially in Palestine, Lebanon and Iran. Rich tributes were paid to the innocent people of Gaza and martyrs of the resistance front.
Addressing a Majlis-e-Aza at Hamdania Colony Bemina before the procession, Agha Syed Mujtaba Abbas Al-Moosvi Al-Safvi said Karbala is an enduring charter of truth, justice and freedom that inspires resistance against tyranny. He added that at a time when brutality continues in many regions, the message of Karbala teaches steadfastness on truth.
The Majlis concluded with prayers for Muslim unity, peace and prosperity of the people, exaltation of Islamic martyrs, and victory of oppressed peoples globally.
