Muslim man killed in mob attack over cow smuggling suspicions
Srinagar: A 28-year-old man, Yousuf, died after succumbing to injuries sustained in a mob attack in Palwal district of Indian state, Haryana.
According to Kashmir Media Service, the attack occurred over suspicions of cattle smuggling, leaving another man injured.
As per police complaint, Yousuf and his companion were transporting a cow and a calf when they were stopped by a group of individuals. The group assaulted both men, accusing them of smuggling cattle for slaughter.
Yousuf was severely injured and later died at Safdarjung Hospital in Delhi. His companion, who was driving the tempo, sustained injuries but is reported to be stable.
The police have registered a murder case against 10 individuals.
