Occupation represented evil, Kashmir dispute needs immediate resolution: APHC

Srinagar: The All Parties Hurriyat Conference has said that the unresolved Kashmir dispute is the main reason for the strained relations between Pakistan and India and needs to be resolved immediately.
According to Kashmir Media Service, APHC spokesman Advocate Abdul Rashid Minhas, in a statement issued in Srinagar, said that occupation represented evil and wrongdoing, which ultimately loses to justice. He said that evil has to go and can never prevail despite power and violence. “This is history,” he added.
The statement said that the only way out of difficulties and problems is patience and perseverance. It quoted him as saying, “Kashmiris are facing the worst period of our history, but this dark period will not last forever, and we will come out of it.”
The APHC said, “We want the welfare of humanity. We want the people of Pakistan and India to prosper in peace and dignity. But for this, the leadership of Pakistan and India will have to come forward with determination and include the Kashmiri leadership in talks to resolve the lingering dispute.”
He said that thousands of Kashmiris, including APHC Chairman Masarrat Aalam Butt, Shabbir Ahmad Shah, Muhammad Yasin Malik, Aasiya Andrabi, Naheeda Nasreen, Fehmeeda Sofi, Nayeem Ahmad, Adv Mian Abdul Qayoom and others, have continued to face illegal detention for over a decade in different jails across India and the occupied territory. These detainees are the worst victims of political vendetta by the BJP regime.
Expressing serious concern over the situation in Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir, the APHC urged the UN to come forward and help resolve the lingering Kashmir dispute in accordance with the United Nations resolutions and the wishes of the oppressed people of the territory.
