Indian police arrest three Kashmiri youth in Bandipora

Srinagar: Indian police arrested three Kashmiri youth in Bandipora district of Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IIOJK).
According to Kashmir Media Service, the youth, identified as Sayar Ahmad Malla, Meraj-ud-Din Hajam and Aamir Tariq Ganaie, were arrested at a checkpoint in the Hajin area of the district.
To justify the arrests, police accused the three youth of involvement in drug trafficking and registered a case against them under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act at Hajin police station.
It is pertinent to mention that Indian forces routinely harass and arrest Kashmiri youth under various pretexts in the occupied territory. Political analysts and rights observers maintain that such actions are aimed at creating an atmosphere of fear and intimidation to suppress dissent and discourage Kashmiris from pursuing their ongoing struggle for their UN-recognized right to self-determination.
Currently, over 3,000 Kashmiris, including Hurriyat leaders, political activists, youth, scholars and human rights defenders, are languishing in different Indian and IIOJK jails.
