Youm-e-Tajdeed-e-Ahad to be observed in IIOJK tomorrow

APHC welcomes Pakistan’s principled stand on Kashmir

Srinagar: The All Parties Hurriyat Conference has called for observing Youm-e-Tajdeed-e-Ahad across Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir tomorrow on the martyrdom anniversary of popular youth leader Burhan Wani to reaffirm the Kashmiri people’s commitment to the martyrs’ mission for Kashmir’s freedom from New Delhi’s illegal occupation.

According to Kashmir Media Service, APHC spokesman Advocate Abdul Rashid Minhas, quoting messages of the jailed Hurriyat leadership, appealed to the people to visit martyrs’ graveyards on July 8, the tenth martyrdom anniversary of Burhan Wani, to pay tributes to Kashmiri martyrs.

The spokesman said Kashmiri martyrs symbolize the enduring resistance against Indian occupation and that the blood of martyrs continues to inspire the freedom movement. “Martyrs like Burhan Wani laid down their lives for the future of Kashmiri generations. The greatest tribute to them is to carry forward their mission with unity and resolve,” he added.

Minhas said that death with dignity is better than life under Indian occupation and that no force can halt the Kashmiri people’s march towards freedom. “The courage and sacrifices of Kashmiri martyrs are etched forever in Kashmir’s history. Every martyr strengthens our resolve to secure the right to self-determination,” he said.

The APHC spokesman also welcomed Pakistan’s reaffirmation of its principled position on the Kashmir dispute. He praised the bold statement of Chief of Defence Forces and Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir made during the Corps Commanders’ Conference in Rawalpindi, reaffirming that lasting peace in South Asia is linked to granting the people of Jammu and Kashmir their right to self-determination in accordance with relevant United Nations resolutions. He reiterated that the sacrifices of Kashmiri martyrs like Burhan Wani will continue to illuminate the path to freedom and that Burhans will continue to rise until Kashmir is free from Indian occupation.
