Indian forces martyr Kashmiri youth in Shopian
Srinagar: Indian troops, in yet another act of state terrorism, martyred a youth in a staged encounter in Shopian district of Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir.
According to Kashmir Media Service, the youth, identified as Zakir Ganie, was killed by troops during a cordon and search operation in the Chanapora area of the district.
The body was recovered from a residential compound in Chanapora on Wednesday. Residents reported hearing fresh gunfire from the area before the body was recovered. They said the forces had confined them to their homes for four days and killed Zakir Ganie during a search of a house.
The operation was launched on Friday evening by the Indian Army, police and paramilitary personnel in the area.
