BJP regime using agencies as a weapon to victimize Kashmiris: Civil society

Srinagar: The civil society in Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir has said that the Indian BJP government is using its military and intelligence agencies as a weapon to victimize the oppressed people of the territory.
According to Kashmir Media Service, civil society members including Dr. Zubair Ahmed, Muhammad Furhan, Muhammad Iqbal Shaheen and Syed Haider Hussain, in a meeting in Srinagar, said India’s dreaded agencies like the National Investigation Agency (NIA), State Investigation Agency (SIA) and Special Investigation Unit (SIU) are conducting raids on a daily basis across the occupied territory.
They said officials of these probe agencies frequently raid the homes of Hurriyat leaders, human rights activists, journalists and even ordinary people and implicate them in fake cases.
“These agencies are meant to intimidate those who refuse to toe the BJP’s line in IIOJK,” they added. The meeting said peace and freedom-loving Kashmiris are booked under draconian laws for their commitment to the ongoing struggle for the right to self-determination. People in the territory are being put behind bars for no crime other than their political beliefs, they lamented.
They said the people of Kashmir are determined to pursue their political struggle despite all odds. They urged world human rights groups to take cognizance of the situation in IIOJK, where people’s voice is being silenced, political activism is being banned, and the economic situation remains highly challenging in the occupied territory.
