APHC-AJK organises grand rally in Gilgit on Accession to Pakistan Day

Gilgit: A grand rally was held in Gilgit on the occasion of Accession to Pakistan Day under the leadership of the All Parties Hurriyat Conference Azad Jammu and Kashmir (APHC-AJK) delegation, with full participation of political, religious and social leadership.

According to Kashmir Media Service, a large number of leaders, workers and people of various political, social and religious parties participated in therally.

The rally started from Kashrut Sunehri Bank and culminated at Kalma Chowk . The participants strongly supported the right to self-determination of the Kashmiri people and demanded a just solution to the Kashmir dispute in accordance with the United Nations resolutions.

The rally was addressed by Maulana Attaullah Shahab, Patron-in-Chief of Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam, Gilgit-Baltistan, Barrister Maulana Athar Mahmood, Legal Advisor of Tanzeem Ahle Sunnat Wal Jamaat, Allama Sharafat Ali Wilayat, President of Markazi Anjuman Imamia, Muhammad Ilyas, Vice President of Pakistan Muslim League (N), Muhammad Qasim Khan, Vice President of Pakistan Muslim League (Q), Maulana Tanveer Haideri, Ameer of Jamaat-e-Islami Gilgit, Hajat Ali and Maulana Hussain Ahmed, Central Members of Pakistan Peoples Party.

APHC-AJK General Secretary Advocate Pervaiz Ahmed, Raja Khadim Hussain and Sheikh Abdul Majid addressing the rally said that July 19, 1947, was a decisive and historic day in the history of the Kashmiri people, when the All Jammu and Kashmir Muslim Conference passed the resolution to join Pakistan and expressed the feelings, aspirations and future direction of the people of Jammu and Kashmir.

They said the Kashmiri people have been making unprecedented sacrifices for the past 78 years to achieve their right to self-determination and the Indian oppression, state terrorism and atrocities could not shake their spirit of freedom.

The speakers urged the government of Pakistan to highlight the Kashmir dispute more effectively at every international forum, while the United Nations and the international community, fulfilling their responsibilities, ensure the implementation of the relevant Security Council resolutions so that the Kashmiri people get the opportunity to decide their future through a free and impartial plebiscite.

The rally was also attended by various political, religious and social figures, including APHC-AJK Convener Ghulam Muhammad Safi, Syed Ijaz Rahmani, Zahid Safi, Zahid Ashraf, Mushtaq Ahmed (Deputy Chief of Jamaat-e-Islami), Abdul Sami and Inayat Mir.

At the end of the rally, special prayers were offered for the elevation of the ranks of Kashmiri martyrs, the early liberation of occupied Jammu and Kashmir, the stability of Pakistan and the unity of the Muslim Ummah.
