Action of forcibly taking Wangchuk to hospital defeat of Modi govt: Kajriwal
New Delhi: Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge has strongly criticized the Modi government for the act of forcibly lifting renowned environmental activist Sonam Wangchuk, who was on a hunger strike at Jantar Mantar in New Delhi, and taking her to the hospital.
According to Kashmir Media Service, Mallikarjun Kharge in a statement said what happened at Jantar Mantar is another black spot on democracy and the Constitution. He said whether it is Professor GD Agarwal, who was on a hunger strike for 111 days to save the Ganga, the Olympic female wrestler from Haryana, the 750 farmers who started the movement, the tribal community or the students and their families affected by the paper leak, the BJP government has not listened to anyone.
He said whoever raises his voice for his rights, the government calls him an enemy of the country and this trend of suppressing democratic protests is very dangerous.
Meanwhile, the Aam Aadmi Party has also called the action of forcibly taking Wangchuk to the hospital a defeat of the arrogant Modi government.
The party’s President Arvind Kejriwal wrote on X, “Such arrogance is not right, instead of forcibly taking Wangchuk, the government should have talked to him, instead of crushing the cockroach movement and improve the country’s education system. Forcibly dealing with Wangchuk is actually a defeat of the Modi government.”
