Israeli national arrested with suspected narcotics in Ladakh region of IIOJK

Kargil: Police have arrested an Israeli national in the Zanskar area of Kargil district in the Ladakh region of Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir after recovering suspected narcotic substances from his possession during a routine check.

According to Kashmir Media Service, the Israeli national was intercepted at the Kargyak Check Post, where police recovered substances suspected to be charas, ganja and a heroin-like substance during a routine inspection.

The foreign national was taken into custody and shifted to the police station for further legal proceedings.

Police have registered an FIR under the relevant provisions of the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act and launched an investigation to ascertain the source of the suspected contraband and determine whether the Israeli national had links to a wider narcotics network.

Indian officials said the seized substances have been taken into custody and will be sent for forensic examination to establish their exact nature and quantity.

Authorities have not disclosed the identity of the arrested individual or the quantity of the suspected narcotic substance recovered. Further details are awaited as the investigation into the case continues.
