High alert declared across IIOJK after Indian policeman’s killing
Srinagar: In Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IIOJK), the authorities have placed the Kashmir Valley on high alert following the killing of an Indian policeman in Islamabad district, with Indian forces intensifying surveillance, tightening restrictions and launching widespread search operations.
According to Kashmir Media Service, the alert was issued after a head constable of the Indian Reserve Police (IRP) was killed in an attack by unidentified assailants in the Lal Chowk area of Islamabad district on Wednesday.
Following the incident, the authorities further tightened restrictions in the name of security across the Kashmir Valley. Indian forces intensified surveillance, established additional checkpoints, and launched raids and cordon and search operations in several areas.
In a post on X, the Srinagar Sector of the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) confirmed that the so-called security across the Kashmir Valley had been placed on high alert following the attack.
“Forces have intensified surveillance, strengthened checkpoints and launched search operations to maintain law and order. Citizens are urged to remain vigilant and cooperate with forces,” the post said.
Notably, following Wednesday’s attack, Indian forces launched a massive crackdown across the Kashmir Valley, arresting at least 3,000 innocent Kashmiri youth and demolishing several residential houses of Kashmiris as part of an intensified campaign of repression in the occupied territory.
