Unprecedented restrictions imposed in name of security across IIOJK
Srinagar: In Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir, Indian authorities have imposed unprecedented restrictions across Srinagar and other districts of the occupied territory, with a sharp increase in checkpoints, intensive vehicle frisking and joint police- Central Reserve Police Force operations visible on major roads and junctions.
According to Kashmir Media Service, in Srinagar, additional temporary and permanent checkpoints have been established at key locations. Indian forces’ personnel are conducting thorough frisking of private vehicles, passenger transport, two-wheelers and pedestrians. Joint parties of Indian police and CRPF were manning these points, checking vehicle boots, identity documents and luggage. Similar heightened activity has been reported from Ganderbal, Kulgam, Bandipora, Islamabad, Baramulla, Budgam and other districts of central, south and north Kashmir.
In these areas too, joint teams are carrying out coordinated frisking and area domination exercises. Movement of people and vehicles is being closely monitored, particularly on highways, entry points to towns and sensitive urban stretches. The intensified security grid comes in the wake of the recent attack in Islamabad in which an Indian police head constable on Amarnath Yatra duty was killed. Indian agencies have placed the entire occupied Kashmir territory on high alert.
Indian Director General of Police Nalin Prabhat has reviewed the situation at a high-level meeting in Srinagar. He directed officers to intensify area domination and night domination, particularly in vulnerable and urban areas, strengthen security around critical infrastructure, and enhance intelligence gathering.
Officials said the joint operations are being conducted uninterrupted despite intermittent rainfall. The multi-agency efforts aim to further tighten the siege in occupied Jammu and Kashmir.
