Armed forces reaffirm unwavering support for Kashmir cause on Youm-e-Istehsal
Rawalpindi: The Armed Forces of Pakistan have reaffirmed their unwavering solidarity with the people of Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IIOJK), reiterating their steadfast support for the Kashmiris’ right to self-determination on the occasion of Youm-e-Istehsal.
According to Kashmir Media Service, in a joint message, Chief of Defence Forces (CDF) and Chief of Army Staff (COAS) Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir, Chief of the Naval Staff Admiral Naveed Ashraf, Chief of the Air Staff Air Chief Marshal Zaheer Ahmed Baber Sidhu, and the Armed Forces of Pakistan paid tribute to the resilience and sacrifices of the Kashmiri people and reaffirmed Pakistan’s enduring commitment to their cause.
The military leadership reiterated that the people of Jammu and Kashmir possess an inalienable right to self-determination, as enshrined in international law and the relevant United Nations Security Council resolutions.
The statement expressed serious concern over what it described as the continued illegal occupation of IIOJK, alleging that the territory remained under military siege and was witnessing widespread human rights violations alongside attempts to alter its demographic composition.
According to the military leadership, such actions, coupled with provocative rhetoric and aggressive posturing, continue to fuel regional instability and prolong the suffering of the Kashmiri people.
The Armed Forces maintained that sustainable peace and stability in South Asia remain intrinsically linked to a just and peaceful settlement of the Jammu and Kashmir dispute in accordance with the aspirations of the Kashmiri people and the relevant UN Security Council resolutions.
Paying homage to those who lost their lives in the Kashmir conflict, the military leadership honoured the martyrs of IIOJK and reaffirmed Pakistan’s unwavering resolve to stand shoulder to shoulder with the Kashmiri people in what it described as their just and legitimate struggle for freedom.
The joint message was issued as Pakistan observed Youm-e-Istehsal, marking the anniversary of India’s August 5, 2019, constitutional measures concerning Jammu and Kashmir, with renewed calls for a peaceful resolution of the longstanding dispute through the implementation of relevant United Nations resolutions.
